DEVLOG #2 [Khodam: The Contract]: Major Update and Countdown for Demo Released!

We’re excited to announce that Khodam: The Contract Demo has received a major update that will greatly enhance your overall gameplay experience! This update includes critical bug fixes, performance improvements, and new features designed to bring an even deeper and more terrifying atmosphere. Not only that, we are also approaching the official demo release this October, so be sure to get ready!

Here are the details of the latest update:

1. Bug Fixes

We’ve listened to the community and managed to fix several key issues:

  • Game Not Opening: Some players reported that they couldn’t open the game after installation. This issue has now been resolved, and you can jump right into the world of Khodam without any problems.
  • Save System: The bug with the save system that caused lost progress has been fixed. You can now safely save and continue the game without worrying about losing your progress.
  • NPC System: Some NPCs were unresponsive or acted strangely in certain situations. We’ve addressed this issue, and NPC interactions are now smoother and more realistic.
  • Stuck During Cutscenes: The issue where characters got stuck during cutscenes has been resolved. Now, cutscenes flow smoothly without disrupting the gameplay.

2. Performance Boost

To ensure a more optimal gaming experience, we’ve made several performance improvements:

  • Increased FPS: We’ve reduced the number of draw calls to significantly boost FPS, ensuring smoother gameplay across a wide range of devices.
  • Shader Optimization: Shaders that looked subpar have been optimized to appear smoother without sacrificing performance.
  • Occlusion Culling: We’ve improved occlusion culling to ensure that elements out of the player’s view don’t drain system resources.
  • Ray Tracing Optimization: Ray tracing is now optimized per shader, balancing visual quality and performance more effectively.

3. Atmosphere Update

To enhance the horror atmosphere in Khodam: The Contract Demo, we’ve added several new elements:

  • New Visual and Audio Atmospheres: Several new visual and audio effects have been added to heighten the horror at various points in the game.
  • Atmosphere Based on Player Actions: The actions you take in the game will now dynamically influence the atmosphere, creating more intense and unpredictable moments.

4. New Features

We’ve also added some exciting new features to deepen your engagement in the game:

  • Mirror Interaction: You can now interact with mirrors in the game. Are you brave enough to see what might reflect back at you?
  • Anti-Aliasing in Mirrors: We’ve added an option for anti-aliasing in mirrors, which can be toggled on or off depending on your graphics preference.
  • Random Jumpscare Locations Based on Actions: Jumpscare locations will now vary and be triggered by your actions, so you’ll never know when the next surprise will strike.
